Magnesium castings and Aluminium castings in 5 days

By means of the Quick Cast prototyping process Formkon can produce magnesium castings and aluminium castings within only 5-10 working days.

The Principle

Based on a 3D file we produce a sintered Polystyrene model on a 3D printer system. The Polystyrene model is then moulded into a plaster or ceramic shell and subsequently the polystyrene model is burned out.

Vacuum is applied to the empty plaster or ceramic shell and fluid magnesium or aluminium is poured into the cavity. Finally the shell is broken and the magnesium castings or aluminium castings are ready for further processing.

After casting we offer a number of different post treatments like CNC machining, measuring and documentation.
